i was on a photo shoot this weekend for the OBEY SPRING 2009 COLLECTION, at the legendary DTLA 1269 warehouse (LA grime), which is great in that AIRBORNE STD’S kind of way.
anyways, martha cooper came up cause the designers had silk screened some of her NY street scene photos on canvas bags. well, apparently a couple of years ago she moved back to Sowebo Baltimore the town she grew up in (its mad hood). she bought a house from john ellsberry, the mosaic muralist, and plans to photo document the gentrification as it pours in and builds up around her.
point of that story: she’s rad.
