she made the outfit she’s wearing

while i breathe, i hope

my mother and father voted Bush in both elections and yeterday they voted McCain
my mother is disappointed, she’s worried that obama will rob her of her veterans benefits
she is also worried that the democratic party isnt christian enough
“they live by the will of man and i live by the will of god”
as our conversation escalates she says, “now that you have your black president, people will
remember you for a second longer because of your black face”
and i agreed but not with resentment

that year i wanted to be aunt jemima for halloween
i got 3rd best costume, lost to a witch+ a mummy
my mom got into a fight with one of the judges
she later claimed that she thought the loss was race based
